I can’t count the amount of times I have been asked during a psychic or mediumship reading, when will I find my soulmate? Am I with my Divine Counterpart? Are they my twin flame? As a society, we have become so accustomed to the idea that one day someone will make us complete when in actuality, we are the only ones who can complete ourselves. And only when we complete ourselves or at least embark on that journey can we begin to feel whole and in turn attract someone who we “vibe with.” Of course relationships will still occur, but we can only expect to attract a partner who matches our vibration and triggers our healing. Our external reality can only change when our internal reality begins to change.
How do we make these changes to become whole?
Change takes hard work and often time this work can only be done on our own. Doctors, therapists, life coaches, healers, readers, friends, and families can help us but they can only hold space and walk with us. They can only hold our hands as we embark on this journey to gain self-realization and move towards self-actualization.
I would love to say that I have the answer to all of your prayers in just one small pill that I am selling, but I don’t.
What I can offer you is one suggestion to get started, Cacao.
What is a cacao ceremony?
Cacao ceremonies began thousands of years ago in the Central and South America with the Theobroma cacao. Theobroma, named by the Mayans translates to “The Food of the Gods.” The trees were revered as sacred and often used in ceremonies and rituals by the Mayans. A modern cacao ceremony is when a healer, traditionally a Shaman leads the group through meditation, movement or dance, and a sharing circle. In this type of sharing circle, we often discuss our fears and burdens as well as our hopes and dreams discovering that often times we share similar experiences and obstacles in our past, present, or future. The goal is to open our hold space for each other so we can begin to release some of the heaviness that has caused our chakras to become imbalanced. As the cacao opens our heart chakra, we become more attuned to our true selves allowing us a release of tension and pent up emotions. This opening and release can often bring us to further awareness allowing us to begin to reconnect with our whole self often discovering the past hurt, trauma, pain, and emotions that are causing the imbalance in the first place. This experience is not only healing and powerful but can be truly transformative. One of the most powerful times to do this practice is during the New Moon phase. If you are unable to take some time do a ritual on the day of the New Moon, know that the energies are still present a few days before and after.
What are some of the benefits?
1. Healing & Harmony
Our heart chakra opens exposing past hurts, traumas, and pain. As we become exposed and allow ourselves to be vulnerable, we can begin healing and processing to bring ourselves closer to a place of balance and harmony.
2. Confidence, Creativity, Play, & Safety
This balancing of our chakras can bring bursts of creativity, play, safety, and confidence.
3. Deepening of Connection
As we open up to Spirit we can reach a deeper connection with our true, whole self and with others.
4. Peace & Nourishment
As we unburden ourselves and reconnect to Spirit, we allow ourselves to be filled with the love, and healing that is offered to us bringing us peace and contentment.
5. Clarity & Purpose
Through this intentional act of release, we make space in our mind, body, and spirit often gaining a sense of renewed clarity. This renewal can be transformative bringing us to a deeper understanding of ourselves and our purpose. As we begin to gain self-realization, we begin to gain clarity on the world around us.

Can I use Cocoa instead of Cacao?

Cacao and Cocoa are similar but are not quite the same. Cacao is considered raw as the cacao beans are processed at such a low temperature ensuring as many nutrients, enzymes, and minerals are intact so we can obtain the health benefits of the cacao bean. Cocoa is fermented processed at a much higher temperature compromising the nutrients, minerals, and enzymes that we could benefit from. This form of cocoa is sold as Natural Cocoa. The cocoa we are most familiar with seeing in stores is labelled hot cocoa or hot chocolate mix. Not only is this processed even more, it is diluted with additives, chemicals, and loads of sugar. Cacao has almost double the amount of protein, calcium, and potassium and contains approximately 40% more magnesium.
Ceremonial cacao is organic and ethically sourced often in the form of chunks, pellets, discs, and pastes. In this recipe, I used Organic Cacao powder as it is more readily available.
How to do a Ceremony or Ritual on my own?
Below are some steps, remember to follow your intuition and internal compass and follow the steps you are guided to take. Once you become more familiar with the ritual, it is best to create your own rituals and find what works best for you!
